However, general stats on how many people own smart phones does not apply to me, as I do not. I agree with most of what you said, Stumpo. The biggest worry I think for most users with is that if in the future, heaven forbid, stuff doesn't go well with future JackBox games, they could pull the service. (End Edit) so this is kinda like going into a thread for Cities Skylines to complain about Europa Universalis or something. Edit: I mean, the common element here is that both this and Fibbage require text-based user input in private, which wouldn't work with a shared screen and controllers. The rant is also sort of off-topic you don't seem to mind that Fibbage requires a phone, so it's not like you want controller support for this game. It's far more likely, for example, that a group will have multiple smartphones than multiple controllers. I get that it must be super annoying to buy something that doesn't work and I personally wouldn't mind if they added controller support to the YDKJ component of JackBox Party Pack, but it's something that's stated upfront and I don't think it's a big hurdle for most potential customers. So it's not like their expectation was well outside of the mainstream. That number is going to go up if you include people who don't have smartphones but do have a tablet in the house or a laptop. Smartphone penetration in the US is ~75% among the target audience age range closer to 85%. The description in the Xbox One store makes it clear that you need a phone, tablet, or computer to use as a controller ( link to game description ) All this could be avoided and much more enjoyable if you weren't pushing your app so hard on everybody who still cares about your games. We shouldn't need to use a browser or phone to log into to play online with random people. But why would you make YDKJ require phones/tablets/browsers just to play on console? Worst decision ever.Īlso, this is Steam.

Will everyone actually get the full game screen in this one, or are you going to take the same approach to it as with Fibbage? If I have to use a browser to get a half-♥♥♥♥♥ game window that doesn't even show me everything, I'm not going to waste my time with this.Īlso, why did you screw players on the Jackbox Party Pack for console? I bought it on Xbox One, and I can understand why Fibbage wouldn't work all on the same screen. Fibbage was fun, but due to the host being the only one able to see the game screen, the only way to enjoy it was using Twitch, which has a significant delay that takes some getting used to.
